Rotational Occupational Therapist

New graduate Whangarei Hospital (1.0 FTE)

Right now, we have an amazing opportunity for an enthusiastic new graduate Occupational Therapist to join our team at Whangarei Hospital. In this role, you will have the opportunity to work across all services and utilise professional knowledge and skills to provide a quality service to the designated inpatients and outpatients attending Whangarei Hospital. 

Te āhuatunga a te tūrunga (About the role)

This is for a full-time, permanent position working 40 hours per week between 8am and 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a shared On Call roster to cover weekends and public holidays (approx. one weekend day every 6-8 weeks)

This includes: 

  • ·         Aligning with clinical and professional practices with Te Whatu Ora Te Tai Tokerau ward policies, protocols, clinical standards and values
  • ·        Contributing to the Clinical and Occupational Therapy teams
  • ·         Professional development

Rotations will occur throughout the hospital every 6-12 months, including Medical and Surgical based departments, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Stroke and Rehabilitation Services.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • -       Hold a current practicing certificate and registration in NZ as an Occupational Therapist
  • -       Current Drivers Licence
  • -       Ability to work autonomously and as part of multidisciplinary team
  • -       Aware of Occupational Therapy theory and principles of practice
  • -       Ability to establish and maintain working relationships between staff and clients
