This is a permanent position and involves a varied caseload, working collaboratively with teachers, whanau, therapists and teacher aides to enhance learning outcomes for our students.


Te āhuatunga a te tūrunga (About the role)

The ideal applicant will have: 

  • A current NZ Occupational Therapist registration through OTBNZ 

  • Paediatric experience

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to relate well to learners with disabilities and their families and whanau

  • The ability to consult and set priorities while considering the needs of all stakeholders

  • The capacity to work within classrooms to establish effective practice and to meet both group and individual goals

  • A knowledge of ASD approaches, sensory processing, hand function, play and equipment accreditation

Ko wai koe (About you)

Arohanui School is a large, progressive special school based in West Auckland. We cater for students aged 5 to 21 years with intellectual and associated disabilities. Our students are educated in a range of settings including our base school, satellite classes and our tertiary unit for our students between the ages of 18-year-olds.

Salary is dependant on experience. This is outlined in Kaiarahi i te Reo and Therapists' collective agreement 2026-2028.
