About the mahi (role)
We are looking for a passionate and skilled Vocational Therapist to join our busy Taranaki team. This is a diverse and rewarding role supporting our vocational contracts (both private and ACC), with opportunities to grow in areas of professional interest.
You’ll be part of a multidisciplinary team including physiotherapists, exercise therapists, hand therapists, pain specialists, psychologists, dietitians, and clinical pharmacists. We offer a hybrid work model, with work based across our New Plymouth Clinic, Rampage Gyms, client workplaces, and Hawera satellite clinic—as well as opportunities to work from home time to time to complete administrative tasks.
Te āhuatunga a te tūrunga (About the role)
Depending on your experience, you’ll receive comprehensive training and mentoring. You will deliver a range of Well At Work services, working with local businesses to support the prevention and management of pain, discomfort, and injury in the workplace.
The role will include:
- Completing workplace assessments for return to work following illness or injury.
- Providing patient education, training, treatment, and rehabilitation in a variety of community and workplace settings.
- Liaise with external partners such as specialists, general practitioners, and employers to ensure smooth rehabilitation for the client.
- You will have the flexibility to complete administration and documentation tasks from home.
In this role, you will be supported by the Clinic Manager and will be a key member of our strong team. We are a close-knit and hard-working group who enjoy regular social events and have a passion for the outdoors.

About you
You’ll bring a minimum of 2 years’ clinical experience, a strong interest in vocational rehabilitation, and the following:
- A Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field
- A current NZ practicing certificate, full professional membership, and indemnity insurance
- A positive, can-do attitude and commitment to clinical excellence
- Strong time management, organisation, and communication skills
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- Willingness to work toward a postgraduate qualification in occupational health or vocational rehab (if not already held)
Substantial orientation and ongoing training will be provided to ensure your success.
