Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (iCAMHS) is a regional service for infants, children and youth aged up to 18 years with serious mental health disorders. Our multi-disciplinary team is made up pf psychiatrist, nurses, social workers, occupational therapist, counsellors and support workers, all trained in a range of treatment modalities.

An important aspect to this role is inter-agency work, including working with community services, schools, Oranga Tamariki, GP's and local Maori networks.

Care Manager / Acute Clinician iCAMHS

Infant, Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service

  • Permanent, part-time role (0.8 FTE), working 64 hours per fortnight
  • Nelson / Tasman location
  • Suitable role for registered Allied Health or Nursing clinicians.

Ko wai koe (About you)

We are looking to appoint a registered allied health professional or registered nurse with ideally at least two years' experience, preferably within an iCAMHS or mental health service. You will be experienced in working with young people and up to date with current research findings relating to major mental health issues and trends in infant, child and adolescent mental health service delivery. You will also have a background in delivering comprehensive assessments and evidence-based interventions for infants, children and youth.

You will be the type of person who fits into a cohesive team culture of collaborative practice, openness, humour, and respect across disciplines and will engender confidence, trust and rapport with service users, their support networks and other agencies and service providers.

The successful candidate must be eligible to work in New Zealand or hold a valid NZ visa at the time of applying.


The salary range for this position is $75,773 - $106,739 per annum pro rata based on the PSA Allied Public Health and Technical MECA, dependent on skills and experience.

The salary range for Registered Psychologists is $85,000 through to $140,000 per annum pro rata based on the current APEX Psychologists MECA (Step 3 to 13 if merit applies) dependent on skills, experience, and registration in NZ.
