OTNZ-WNA Advocacy Committee / Te Komiti Kōkiri o OTNZ-WNA
The OTNZ-WNA Advocacy Committee / Te Komiti Kōkiri o OTNZ-WNA (AC) is established by council as part of the associations strategy plan and comes under the theme of Advocacy and Representation. The advocacy committee shall utilise both proactive and reactive approaches of advocacy. It is purposed to:
• Determine issues to be advocated on
• Select programmes to be championed
• Determine submissions or media to be responded to
• Provide governance, strategic and operational direction to advocacy working groups
The Advocacy Committee is a volunteer group and is not resourced other than by the provision of communication channels offered by OTNZ-WNA such as teleconferencing, Google group networks, access to the Panui and OT Insight etc. The authority to offer other resources such as funding surveys, covering the cost of delegations to stakeholder meetings etc. is out of scope of this TOR and would require a business case presented to council for funding before being commenced. The function of the Advocacy Committee is different to that of the working group although members on the committee may choose to put themselves forward to be on a working group.
